Every year we see predictions for the interior design trends for the months ahead. If your bathroom needs an update, one of these trends for 2022 could be the perfect way to refresh your interior.
Why Is Bathroom Interior Important?
In modern times bathrooms are very much a multi-functional room, being both a practical space in the morning to carry out personal care and get energised for the day ahead, as well as a tranquil haven in which to relax during the evening.
Consider The Lighting
Lighting needs to reflect this challenge, and a good solution is to use pendants for ambient lighting combined with wall lights for task lighting, ideally placed either side of the mirror for an even glow.
IP ratings also need to be taken into consideration. However, it’s worth remembering that there is no IP rating requirement for using lights in zone 3, so don’t limit yourself to just ‘bathroom lights’ for areas which don't require an IP rating.
Go Nude
The new season is set to see nude tones making a comeback and these tones work incredibly well in a bathroom, inviting lots of natural light. With peach, cappuccino and beige tones already proving popular, glass pendants are a great finishing touch, as they won’t distract from the nude colour palette.
Add Metallics
Alternatively, raw brass and copper tones also work beautifully with a nude colour palette, creating a relaxed and cosy atmosphere, and the metallic really lifts the whole scheme.

Expose Elements
We’ve seen a rise of interior designers embracing industrial chic, exposing raw elements which would usually be concealed. In bathrooms this year we’ll see more exposed shower plumbing.
Do you want to achieve the industrial look in the bathroom, but you don’t have any raw materials to expose? You can easily replicate the look with brick wallpaper, industrial lights and looking for accessories that are made of raw materials.
Black Shower Screens
Additionally, over the last few years, black shower screens have become more popular, and this will continue into this year. The industrial-style vibe adds symmetry into the space. These work incredibly well with exposed elements and help to tie a whole design together.

Be Bare
For the ultimate ‘barely-there’ nude look, consider a bare light. LED vintage bulbs have taken the world of interior design by storm in recent years, and it’s not difficult to see why.
Opt For An LED
With their clean, minimalist style, LED energy-saving bulbs look great in the bathroom, and they are as practical as they are decorative, as you won’t need to replace the bulb for years. The increased wattage of modern LEDs provides a warm and relaxing glow that can be used in combination with incandescent bulbs for a polished finish.

Back To Basics
There’s been a rise in the popularity of copper and brass accents in bathrooms the past few years, bringing a warm tone to interiors. Although copper and brass will continue to bring a luxurious feel to bathrooms, we’re also going to see pewter and gunmetal metallics making a comeback.
With the rise of patterned tiles and dark marble, cooler-toned metals such as pewter and gunmetal look visually more blended when paired with these styles.

Brighten It Up With Art
This year is all about making an artistic statement and what better way to do so than by incorporating artwork in your bathroom? Art adds uniqueness and character to any given space and has the ability to brighten up a bathroom in seconds.
Spa-Like Design
We’d always advise opting for art which inspires you and helps to tie the design of the room together. This bathroom interior opted for a floral art piece paired with plenty of greenery, a chrome bath and our waterproof wall light to create a tranquil, spa-like space!

Go Bold
This year, bathroom interior will be divided between nudes and the continuously popular dark interiors. Go bold and take a leaf out of spa interior with black bathrooms. Darker colours have the ability to make a room feel smaller, so if you’ve got a smaller bathroom, add touches of black rather than lashes, for a bold yet minimalistic décor.
Black & Brass = The Perfect Match
Brass adds a luxurious element to black and helps to brighten the dark colour. Whether you decide to opt for brass taps, accessories or a two-tone pendant, the metallic will add warmth and character to the bathroom.
Make A Statement
Searches for bathroom interiors have been on the rise over the last few years and as it’s a room we usually start our days and relax after a long day, why not make a statement?
Statement Mirror
Firstly, over the last few years, statement mirrors have taken centre stage in the bathroom. Available in all shapes and sizes, from round and rectangle to crazy shapes!
Statement Wallpaper
In modern days wallpaper is not often used in the bathroom. However, this year we’ll see the comeback of opting for a statement wallpaper in the bathroom. We love this grandmillennial inspired space; the wallpaper adds bundles of character and our industrial-style, waterproof flush mount will cascade light beautifully across the room!

Go Geometric
An unexpected bathroom choice, geometric tiles are fast becoming a bathroom favourite. There are various patterns and shapes available, whether you opt for neutral tones to blend in or statement patterns to amplify your interior, we are going to see more patterns in the bathroom!
Scallop Style
We couldn’t think of a better room to add a mermaid-like feel than adding scallop-style patterns in the bathroom! The pink pattern blends perfectly with the dark granite tiles, and the pop of brass through our Sleek Wall Lights helps to create a fun and on-trend bathroom style.

Introduce Double Sinks
Often left for luxurious hotels, double sinks vanity units are now more affordable, and we’ll see more and more people incorporating these into their master bathrooms. Not only do they add elegance and class to the space, but they have many perks too!
Add A Duo Of Pendants
To complement double sinks, we’d advise opting for a duo of pendants to illuminate the space. Our Brooklyn Outdoor & Bathroom Pendant in Brass are placed in this bathroom, the industrial-style works well with the exposed brick wall and help make it a practical space.
