Elegant interiors are becoming increasingly popular. With a mixture of deep emerald greens and sapphire blues, metallic accessories and dainty features, you can make your interior chic and classy. Copper and pewter tones are well-loved and blend beautifully with the deeper tones. Other colours that are on-trend at the moment include dusty pinks and popping yellows. In this blog, we’re going to look at the popular jewel tone trend and discuss how industrial lighting is the perfect addition to a deep coloured interior.
Introduce Deep Tones
When using a jewel tone for your walls, you want to add a touch of sparkle and shine to bring a bit of brightness. The perfect way to do this is with metallic colours; think copper, brass and pewter! These tones make a statement feature on any jewel inspired wall, whether it is sapphire, emerald, ruby or amethyst. Metallic mirrors and wall lights are brilliant features on deeper colours; they make a statement and add a stylish touch.
Perhaps the most common jewel tone for a wall, sapphire is considered the easiest colour to live and work with. The tone works with an array of other colours, as you can see above, a tan sofa works beautifully, and below, a bright orange sofa looks perfect! Due to it being so diverse and workable, many people like to use it as their main room colour. It is especially useful if you are new to interior design because so many different colours look good with this jewel tone! Brass lighting, in particular, looks very chic and elegant; the bright and shiny feature makes the perfect contrast with any jewel tone, but especially sapphire.

With emerald green, it can work well as a wall colour, but it looks best when used for features in a room. Consider using this jewel tone with an armchair, cushions, side table, or small accessories like a radio, picture frames or plant pots. Further colours that blend beautifully with emerald green are dusty pink and copper. The combination of the soft pinks and the metallic copper creates an elegant interior. The copper tones pop when combined with jewel tones, and the use of glass lighting gives the interior a gorgeous antique feel.

Be Eccentric
When using deep jewel tones, it’s the perfect opportunity to add a pop of bright colour, and what better colour than yellow? Use a jewel tone as your main colour and then accessorise the room with bright features, like a bean bag as seen below. Using yellow can warm up a room and make a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re decorating your bathroom, living space or kitchen, this colour palette is so workable that it can work for any room in the house!
Patterns can also be easily incorporated through cushions or rugs, creating further dimension in the room. The perfect metallic tone to pair with this colour palette is copper. The slight red tones complement both the emerald green and yellow beautifully. The copper
vintage ceiling lights, seen below, work seamlessly with the interior. Both the exposed bulb and metal creates the industrial dream!

Add A Bit Of Shine
Jewel tones and shiny metals are a match made in heaven; the two together create drama and style. Brass and copper works beautifully with emerald greens and sapphire blues. The interior will instantly appear sophisticated and have that vintage flair.
Industrial lighting works well in bathroom interiors because the stunning metallic tones help to transform the room. The exposed metal also makes the interior appear luxurious. The green tones can blossom through the use of plants and pairs wonderfully with pewter and silver tones. The bathroom interior below is an industrial and vintage dream! The mixture of an exposed wall, pewter lighting, a metallic free-standing bathtub and an oversized mirror creates a rustic yet chic interior. The plants and exposed wall make the room feel connected to the outdoors, and the use of the metallic shades adds the modern and classy vibe.

Create Drama
Ruby reds are perfect for putting a contemporary spin on any interior, whether it’s the bathroom, kitchen or living space. Do not be afraid to branch out and use a dramatic red jewel tone to spruce up your interior. Metallics work beautifully with ruby tones because the shine sparkles and stands out against the red.

In commercial spaces, ruby reds can create a unique and memorable interior. Stand out from the crowd and create an interior that makes a statement. Ruby jewel tones could work brilliantly in a café or restaurant interior because it makes the room instantly feel warm, welcoming and enticing.
Mix It Up
Why only use one jewel tone when you could use multiple? Create a statement and have a feature wall that uses a mixture of sapphire, emerald, ruby and amethyst! In a commercial sense, if your space includes an array of jewel tones, whether it is through graffiti art or multiple pieces of art, you are sure to be remembered! The Frog Hoxton, pictured below, has used graffiti art to make a bold appearance on a feature wall, and it works perfectly.

Additionally, you could look at introducing some artwork into the interior, rather than decorating a whole wall. Using artwork is somewhat easier than painting an entire wall, and you can also change the pieces easily. Here at Industville, we are believers of including unique and original pieces of art in your interior. We have a brilliant range of work from aspiring artists, which you can browse here.
