Wedding season is almost upon us, and we thought we’d celebrate by looking at how you can incorporate the popular pastel trend into your home décor. Pastel colours are incredibly relaxing and are being continuously used in weddings as they blend together to create a romantic atmosphere, which has inspired us to look into the top five pastel interior trends for this year. We’ll delve deep into each trend and finish the blog with an interview with Laura Allen who is the co-owner of The White Collection Bridal Boutique. The boutique is a dream with them pairing soft pastel pink with our industrial lights!
Go Pretty
Pastel colours have a calming effect and have the ability to transform a room into a tranquil haven. Everybody needs a peaceful sanctuary to unwind in at the end of the day and pastels are the perfect way to create this. Pinks and creams work well all year round with both being incredibly versatile. We are in love with this living room décor, incorporating plenty of textures and our balloon wall lights to create a cosy space.

Another room which we like to unwind in is the bathroom; it’s a space where we can switch off from the outside world and what better way to relax than in an incredible interior? Incorporating patterned floor tiles, cream walls and pewter lights to construct a welcoming décor, this bathroom has got it right!

Be Dramatic
If you like to use dramatic and mysterious colours in your interior design but would like to soothe these out, the perfect way to do so is by incorporating blush pastels to lighten up the space. In the ‘50s and ‘60s, pastel colours were coupled with darker shades such as gunmetal and blacks to create a striking, bold statement. This year we’ll see this come back with pastels such as pinks and mustards paired with dark accessories, such as pewter wall lights.
This Australian haven painted their front doors pastel pink to reflect the light and airy feel of the country but paired this with our bulkhead industrial wall lights to add a more rustic feel.

Patterns, pastels and vintage lights, this bedroom interior has the dramatic décor down to a tee. They’ve brightened up the use of darker colours with these coloured cushions and use of natural light to create a striking interior.

Incorporate Patterns
Pastels work really well when paired with patterns such as geometrical prints, the contrast between the sharp lines and the soft colours emitting a fresh and funky feel. This bathroom interior coupled plush pink geometrical tiles with dark units and brass accessories to bring the interior together and fully embrace the pastel trend.

Think Outside The Box
If you’re looking to craft a statement interior, think outside of the box and be edgy. Look to put an industrial twist on the classic pastel colours and go against the norms. This year we’ll see more than just one colour on the walls, think ombre and murals. The dining room interior below paired the ombre pastel wall with copper lights and our coloured flex to add visual interest.

Go Glam
Plush pastels have the ability to create a glam interior, whether you opt for a pink or a duck egg blue. When you pair pastels with the right accessories, you’ll be able to create a show-stopping interior! Plastering the bathroom walls with elegant wallpaper, a rug, vintage style mirror and industrial lights, we’d love to spend our weekends relaxing in this ultra-glam bathroom!

Interview With Laura Allen From The White Collection Bridal
Leading on from creating a glamorous interior, we had the pleasure to interview Laura Allen, the co-owner of The White Collection Bridal, about her vision for the bridal store and why pastel pink was the perfect colour for brides!
Tell Us A Little About Your Vision For The White Collection Bridal Store And How It Begun?
Our other boutique is very classic - chandeliers, high ceilings, we call it our ‘fairytale’ boutique, you know, the sort of shop you imagined finding your wedding dress when you were younger! This one had to be different, so we wanted something modern and on trend. We wanted to focus on the fact that most of our brides initially hear about us on social media, so we’ve made it a bit of a blogger’s paradise with neon signs and floral walls, and of course our Industville lights! Our shops stock different dresses, and we wanted to show the difference in the styling, and that’s how the vision of our Portishead boutique came about.
Was There A Reason For Choosing The Specific Lights From Us?
Yes, Sarah (co-owner) has Industville lights in her own home, so we knew already we were buying high-quality lights and that they were going to look great. We had a really tight timescale to get the shop finished, so we didn’t have time to waste purchasing online from shops we weren’t confident in.
We Love The Pink Flex With The Copper Lighting, So Inspiring! How Did You Think Of This?
The whole reason for the decisions we made for the styling of the boutique was to be different and stand out; we think the pink flex adds something really different and memorable. The shine of the copper adds such a luxurious feel to the boutique but with a modern edge - they’re perfect!
How Important Are Interiors In Retail?
Interiors are extremely important in retail; you need to make a space somewhere people are going to like to be and feel comfortable in. With the rise of social media, image is everything when it comes to attracting new customers.
How Do You See Interiors Changing In Retail In The Future?
We are definitely seeing a more industrial style in retail; I think a lot of retail outlets are a lot more conscious of following trends when it comes to interior design.
We loved speaking to Laura about her inspiration for the picture-perfect bridal boutique and hope this blog has inspired you to incorporate pastels into your interior this year, whether pastels become your focal colour or just by adding a splash. The pastel colour palette has a mesmerising, romantic feel to it, making it the perfect way to bring the feeling of weddings into your interior all year round.
