Knights of the round table ??? So, I've moved the big rectangle dining table & green chairs into the conservatory. Managed to pick up this round table and 4 chairs from FBMP for £170...bargain! ?? This works SO much better in the space now and compliments the shape of the giant bowl pendant ?? When I was reading about round tables, it's actually really interesting when it comes to their functionality in interior design. Obviously their footprint is smaller, so they allow for more floorspace - but back in the day of King Edward & knights of the round table, the idea was that everyone had equality as there is no 'head' of the table. I love that! ?? Also, round tables can create more flow to a space. There are no harsh edges or sharp corners. The circular silhouette feels more balanced and calming to me.???? There's a funny story behind this furniture upcycle 🙊(of course) Ok so, most of us love a freebie or a FBMP bargain, but I think I'm a self confessed skip rat😂🐀 It's another level of cray-cray 🤪 My neighbour had these dining chairs on their drive about to take them to the tip. Picture this - there I was, peeping out the blinds 👀 OMG furniture!? I legged it next door like a bat out of hell in my slippers. I love this little corner and the light it gets as the sun goes down 😎 Swipe to see before 👉 When we first moved in this was one of the first rooms we were desperate to tackle. You can’t really see in the before picture but the ceiling was covered in wood chip wall paper which had been there for many years and was peeling off. When we took it off and the lining paper on the walls all the plaster crumbled away, we had to have a new plasterboard ceiling and everywhere skimmed but it looks so much better now! The kitchen is still a work in progress though, we still need to replace the tiles (we painted them as a temp measure) and we’re also having a new oven and hob. But first we need to save! 😁
