What type of lighting is best for a kitchen?
Whether you're after a vintage look, a sleek modern design, or a cosy boho farmhouse feel, you can achieve perfect lighting with our signature kitchen wall and ceiling light fittings. They’re made to fit beautifully into contemporary and traditional hearts of the home.
A balanced mix of ambient, task, and accent lighting is key. Here are some of the popular designs in our collection:
- Kitchen pendant lighting: Our traditional pendants are excellent island or dining area conversation pieces. They provide task lighting where needed while serving as sculptural elements crafted from quality metals and glass. Their design gives focused light distribution onto key work surfaces.
- Flush kitchen mounts: Where more ambient light is required or ceiling height is a problem, our flush kitchen ceiling fittings offer a refined, low-profile option without compromising a clean, contemporary look.
- Kitchen wall sconces: Adding kitchen wall lights provides soft, accent lighting for a layered effect. They are excellent for accentuating architectural detail or material texture, like backsplashes, which also adds to overall atmospheric depth.
What are the key styles and features of the kitchen lighting collection?
Our kitchen lights combine form and function, offering premium materials like hand-finished brass, bronze, matt black, and artisan glass. Whether you're creating a contemporary, traditional, or boho-style kitchen, we have lighting solutions that provide ambient, task, and accent lighting for every space. Our kitchen lights are truly an elite blend of style and technical excellence:
- Premium materials: Hand-finished brass, bronze, matt black, and artisan glass.
- Natural elements: Incorporation of sustainable materials like rattan and raffia for a relaxed, boho-inspired feel.
- Beautiful finishes: Choose from brass, bronze, matt black finishes, pewter, and rustic copper.
- Artisanal glass: Clear glass allows us to showcase dramatic filament bulbs, while ribbed, smoked, or opal glass gives a softer look.
- Stylistic forms: Our fixtures are adapted from vintage, modern industrial, farmhouse and retro typologies and reimagined for your interior.
- E27 screw fittings: Our fixtures come with standard E27 screw fittings, making it easy to personalise with LED filament bulbs (sold separately). This allows you to achieve the desired CCT and lumen output while maintaining the retro aesthetic.
- Dimming capability: To create a mood in the kitchen, our fixtures are dimmable when combined with the right LED-compatible dimmer switches, providing precise lighting control.
- Energy efficiency: Our kitchen lighting fixtures are compatible with energy-efficient LED bulbs.
- Versatility: Our collections are designed with continuity in mind. Most ranges incorporate coordinating kitchen wall lighting, kitchen ceiling lighting, and flush mounts, offering a consistent visual story.
- Craftsmanship: Many components reflect a handcrafted approach, contributing to each kitchen lighting design's unique character and enduring appeal.
Can I mix and match different lighting styles in my kitchen?

What is the standard ingress protection (IP) rating of the kitchen lights?
Much of our specialist kitchen lighting range is rated IP20. This gives protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm and makes them suitable for general indoor use in dry conditions, such as mounting over islands, dining areas, and ambient ceiling areas that are not in close proximity to water.
For splashing areas, like the above sinks, refer to specific product information or choose from our gorgeous bathroom lighting collection; it includes products with a higher IP rating, such as IP44 or IP65, for additional protection from moisture. Read more with our guide to IP ratings.
